Educating Fathers

Every father wants to be a good dad.  But let's face it, being a father today is not easy.  The Fatherhood Initiative will help you learn what it takes to be the best dad you can.

Our program is based on the idea that both parents are responsible for supporting their children.  You will learn how to meet the emotional and financial needs of your children by attending our free six-week education and counseling Program.

Equipping Fathers

The Fatherhood Initiative offers:

• Help with vocational training


• Job search and interviewing skills


• Anger management and counseling


• Annual health physicals


• Parenting education


• Legal education


• Money management


• Peer support


• Housing (when available)


• Alcohol/substance abuse recovery

Engaging Fathers

Our program helps each father develop personally and socially.  The program provides information and education on healthy lifestyles, anger management, life skills and violence prevention.  Fathers will receive case management services to monitor progress, coordinate services, and provide additional support when needed.

Before graduation, we encourage our fathers to join ongoing support groups within the community.
